Startup optimization guide

A faster start after you sign in.

A slow start is usually not Windows itself but the apps and tasks that open with it. These are the Senytra screens that show what starts, how much it costs and what you can safely turn off.

  1. 1

    Startup Manager

Every app that starts with Windows, with its publisher and measured impact. Turning one off does not remove it; it only stops it starting with Windows, and you can turn it back on at any time.

    What is inside

    • Registry startup entries for this user and all users
    • Startup folders
    • Third-party scheduled tasks that run at sign-in or boot
    • Windows’ own boot time measurement from the event log

Tip Keep audio, touchpad and security software. Game launchers and chat apps can usually start later.

  2. 2

    One-Click Clean

Turns off the startup apps that measurably slow Windows down, together with the file cleanup. The change is backed up and can be undone with one click.

    What is inside

    • Only high-impact startup apps with a measured delay
    • Protected and security software is never touched
    • Undo brings every startup app back

Tip If you want to choose each item yourself, use the Startup Manager instead.

  3. 3

    Background services

Some services start with Windows even when you have no device that needs them. Senytra lists the ones that can be turned off safely, with the reason for this PC.

    What is inside

    • Suggestions based on detected hardware: printer, Bluetooth, camera, Xbox
    • Services Windows needs are never listed
    • Every change is backed up and verified

Tip If you later connect a printer or Bluetooth device, turn its service back on here.

  4. 4

    Fast Startup and hibernation

Fast Startup makes Windows boot faster by not fully shutting down. It can also keep driver problems around between restarts. Senytra lets you turn it off when you need a clean, full start.

    What is inside

    • Turn Fast Startup on or off
    • Turn hibernation off to free its disk space

Tip Leave Fast Startup on unless you have driver or shutdown problems.

  5. 5

Remove what you do not use

An app you never use can still start with Windows or run a background updater. Uninstall it with its own uninstaller, then clean the folders and registry entries it left behind.

    What is inside

    • Desktop programs and Microsoft Store apps
    • Leftover folders go to the Recycle Bin
    • Registry keys are backed up before they are deleted

Tip Sort by install date to find apps that came with other programs.

  6. 6

    Undo a startup change

If something you need stops opening after a change, bring it back from Backup and Undo or turn it on again in the Startup Manager.

    What is inside

    • Every startup and service change is recorded
    • Undo one change or all of them

Tip Startup items you turned off stay in the list as disabled, so they are easy to find.
